What is Spy TEC?
The Spy TEC trilogy is a trilogy written by Katherine Powell McCafferty (and actually under the name Katherine Powell McCafferty). They follow a young teenager named Leslie Martin as she goes to a summer camp called TEC: Terrorist Elimination Camp. As the summer goes on and the odds turn against her, Leslie realizes that there might be much more at stake here than what she originally thought.

The BooksBook One: The Terrorists Strike
In Book One in the Spy TEC trilogy, Leslie arrives at TEC. She meets new friends, makes new enemies, and almost gets killed...multiple times. Although Leslie is one of the newest campers, she has a destiny unlike any other...and that destiny could very well get her killed. The official Book One summary is as follows: "When 14-year-old Leslie Martin agrees to attend the summer camp TEC, she has no idea what she's getting herself into. At TEC, they battle secret terrorists with dragons, ride mutated horses, and learn to swordfight! Leslie thinks camp may be alright, before four kidnappings begin to change her mind. Everyone at camp knows it was the terrorists, but no one is prepared to take action. Although Leslie is determined to save her friends and family, she may end up losing even more in the process." Book Two: Life or Death In Book Two, our young heroine must be saved by her crush, Conner Lang. Through furious battles between both foe and allies, the two lovebirds must conquer not only their enemies, but their own expanding feelings towards each other, as well. The official Book Two summary is as follows: "Leslie's untimely kidnapping does not go unnoticed at TEC. Not even twenty-four hours later, Conner and three other TEC campers are assigned to get sent out. Their mission is to retrieve Leslie and the other stolen campers. But the terrorists have a plan of their own for poor, helpless Leslie.... Meanwhile, TEC undergoes major problems: most of their campers are missing, and their Swordmaster might be gone forever. What will happen? Even if they get Leslie back, she could be permenetly damaged...forever. And will Conner let his growing feelings for Leslie cloud his judgement of right or wrong...and life or death?" Book Three: The Final Battle Book Three in the Spy TEC trilogy contains more action, romance, and twists than ever before. We can't say too much, other than the final book in this action-packed trilogy easily puts the other two to shame. The official Book Three summary is: "Leslie is back at camp and is as strong as she can be at the moment. Still, there are secrets she hasn't uncovered, prophecies she's never heard of. When Luke divulges the true meaning of her prophecy, she knows she must prevent it. The only way is to go on a treacherous journey to the Cave of Secrets, a legendary cave that holds all the information and secrets of the world. Deep inside the cave lives the Supreme Warlock, who can change or reverse any prophecy if given good reason to. But if Leslie's prophecy is really changed, will it be for the better...or worse? And the final battle between Chloe and Leslie is never far away...and the outcome is not what anyone expects. This thrilling finale to the Spy TEC trilogy has surprises at every turn, tragedy at every stop, and action in all pages. When the final truth comes out, the Swordmaster you've come to know and love may be dead...or as good as." The Deluxe EditionThe Deluxe Edition of the Spy TEC trilogy is also out! The CharactersLeslie Martin & Conner LangLeslie Priscilla Martin is the main protagonist of the Spy TEC trilogy. She is a spunky 14-year-old with a bit of a sarcastic edge. Leslie has a best friend named Emily Perry, and has a feisty yet sweet personality. During the first book, Leslie develops a strong relationship with Conner Lang, a 15-year-old blonde-haired, blue eyed young man who is the major heartthrob of her summer camp. Everyone keeps telling her that she is special and has a destiny unlike anyone else. And getting kidnapped by terrorists is only the start.
Conner Jason Lang is the classic "Prince Charming." He has blonde hair and blue eyes, and has had a crush on Leslie since the day he first set eyes on her. While Leslie is rather feisty, Conner is a sweet guy through and through, always making sure Leslie's needs are met before his own. He first met Leslie when he was spying on her house in an effort to collect more campers for TEC. He then met her outside the front door of his best friend's house, then got lost in a forest with her, then tackled her in Katherine's home...the list goes on and on. Theirs is not the classic love story, but its a great one...full of adventure, tragedy, and, of course...romance. Katherine & ChloeKatherine (no known last name) is, yes, named after me. I always thought it would be cool to be the "bad guy".
Katherine is the leading antagonist for the first half of the first book. She terrifies the terrorists that work for her and takes over the secret terrorist organization from her older brother, Ben. Ben is the only one who is not terrified of her and is willing to stand up to her. Katherine owns a Storm dragon named Violet that is capable of flying at 190 mph. But once Chloe takes the reins, Katherine is reduced to a powerless, fearful copycat. Chloe (also with no known last name) is the main antagonist throughout the ENTIRE trilogy. She is a 40-year-old woman who looks like an 18-year-old girl. She drank an immortality potion when she was eighteen and then left the camp TEC to join the terrorists. After disappearing for eight years, Chloe re-appeared to lead the terrorists in their war against TEC. She has always wanted to be a Swordmaster and hates Leslie for being one. She wants Leslie's power and only knows of one (very painful) way to get it. So. Many. More!Spy TEC has many more characters than just the above four. It has so many, the author (me) had to make an entire section in the last book just to help you sort them out! The above four are the most important, and will show up in every book, if not every chapter. So what are you waiting for? Go get a book!
